Camphor+eucalyptus oil+purified turpentine oil

Fixed combination of camphor, eucalyptus oil and Terebinthinae aetheroleum rectificatum, which has the status of a recommendation according to Commission E and is therefore referred to as the sample.

The combination consists of:

• Camphor
• Eucalyptus oil (see eucalyptus below)
• Terebinthinae aetheroleum rectificatum(purified turpentine oil)

has a slightly antispasmodic, antiseptic, hyperemic effect and promotes sputum. In addition, this combination has a secretolytic, respiratory, bronchospasmolytic and toning effect on the patient's circulation.

A fixed combination of camphor, eucalyptus oil and purified turpentine oil is used according to Commission E for catarrhal diseases of the respiratory tract and for muscle and joint pain in non-inflammatory rheumatic diseases.

In a fixed combination of camphor, eucalyptus oil and purified turpentine oil, the individual ingredients must be present in quantities of 30 to 50 % of their daily dose as a single drug. A combination of this composition is usually used in the form of an inhalation or as liquid or semi-solid preparations for rubbing into the skin.

In rare cases, contact eczema or symptoms of poisoning may occur (in the case of extensive external application). If not used properly, diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting may also occur.

In case of an existing hypersensitivity to essential oils or in case of an acute pneumonia (inhalation application), no application should be made.
For external use, this combination should not be used on pre-damaged skin (e.g. due to burns) and
the area of the face of infants and small children should be avoided.

There are no known interactions with other substances.
