acrodermatitis continua suppurativa. persistent, therapy-resistant changes of the right thumb of a 68-year-old woman since 3 years. initially a suppuration at the medial nail bed was observed which became more and more severe and finally led to nail extraction. 2 further nail extractions followed after 2 recurrences. the nail matrix is distally detached and altogether dystrophic. in the distal region there is a smaller weeping plaque. secondary findings are a melanonychia striata as a central, dark, longitudinal stripe at the nail.

Tinea unguium; distal subungual type of onychomycosis; starting from the hyponychium there is a striated yellow discoloration of the nail matrix; the matrix is crumbly destroyed.

Psoriasis of the nails. single (only on the thumb), complete, crumbly onychodystrophy (psoriatic crumb nail). massive swelling and redness of the whole thumb, infestation of the joints in the ray (so-called sausage fingers).

Naevus verrucosus (detailed picture) striped arrangement of yellow-brownish papules and plaques.

elastosis actinica. deep rhomboid wrinkles, with bulging skin relief, with pale yellowish skin discoloration. yellowish infiltrates can be detected when the skin is tightened. at the right edge of the picture brownish skin discoloration (lentigines seniles).

verrucae plantares. sole of the foot in a 13-year-old competitive swimmer. painfulness during walking. lesions increasing since about 3 years. findings: aggregation, numerous, up to 2-4 mm large, clearly indurated horn crater with a slightly raised lateral horn wall (see left part of the picture). rough surface with whitish scaling. in some lesions approximately pinhead-sized, dark spot hemorrhages; see left part of the picture below.
