Sulfur

Sulphur was frequently used in dermatology in the magistral formulation, New Prescription Formulary . In connection with the re-authorization of existing medicinal products, the official processing commission B 7 has negatively assessed sulphur for skin therapy in the human sector in a monograph. Prescriptions should not be prepared without an individual benefit/risk assessment.

In a "Resolution" on good principles of extemporaneous prescribing in the case of sulphur, the Prescription Commission "Extemporaneous Prescriptions" of the German Dermatological Society has recommended a more liberal prescribing practice for dermatological use: sulphur prescriptions for external use can be supplied provided the prescribing doctor is informed about the problem!
