Ollendorf-curth, helen

(¤ 1899, † 1982) Dermatologist, working in Berlin, New York Helen Ollendorff was born on 28.2.1899 in Breslau, the son of a judicial council. She studied medicine in Freiburg. 1924-1927 dermatological assistant to Abraham Buschke in Berlin. 1931 emigration to the USA together with her husband W. Curth (also a dermatologist). In New York they worked together in a practice. Helen Ollendorff-Curth also worked at the dermatology department of Columbia University. The scientific focus of her work was: Acanthosis nigricans. 1928 together with A. Buschke, first description of the Dermatofibrosis lenticularis disseminata with osteopoicilie ( Buschke-Ollendorf-Syndrome).
