Caraway allergy T78.1

Oral allergic reactions to caraway or caraway products are rare. Systemic reactions such as urticaria and bronchial obstruction have been observed sporadically (Eriksson NE et al. 2004). The antibodies were detected in the ELISA (Boxer MB et al. 1998).

The essential caraway oil can cause toxic local reactions of the skin. The plant itself does not cause skin irritation (Roth L et al. 1994).
