Anti-ganglioside igg antibody

Gangliosides represent a structural family of glycosphingolipids. AK against gangliosides are detectable in 60% of patients with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). They are found particularly in the acute phase and can therefore be used as disease markers.

Specificities are divided into 3 groups based on the epitope-giving gangliosides. Ant-gQ1bAK are specific for Miller-Fisher syndrome, a variant of GBS.
