Form of hyperaldosteronism (renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system), triggered by resistance of the vessels to angiotensin, among other things as a result of laxative abuse or misuse of diuretics.

Often young women in medical professions, possibly anorexia nervosa (Herold 2016). Furthermore, the clinical picture has been described frequently in children with cystic fibrosis (Faraji-Goodarzi M 2019) as well as in infants who were delivered by underweight mothers (Higuchi R et al. 2008).
