Diarrhoea, pap smear

Pea porridge-like diarrhea is typical of illness with Salmonella Typhi and Samonella paratyphi (see d.). They are yellowish green diarrhea (Caspary 2005)). These occur in the fastigii stage, in the 2nd - 3rd week of illness (Nothdurft 2001).

Necrotizing inflammation develops in the Peyer's plaques, which belong to the lymphatic system (Herold 2022). In addition, a pronounced hyperplasia of the Peyer's plaques is found, which is typical for typhoid fever (Thomas 2012).
