Theune, joachim

(¤ 1920, † 2006) Dermatologist, working in Halle, Dessau. Theune studied medicine in Poznan from 1938 to 1939. In 1939 he was drafted; in 1941 he lost his right arm as a medical sergeant. 1948 Began specialist training at the Halle University Dermatology Clinic under Theodor Grüneberg. From 1961 senior physician at this clinic. 1967 Appointment as head physician at the dermatological clinic in Dessau. His closeness to the system of state security of the former GDR was demonstrated by the fact that, with the consent of the clinic director, "so-called troublemakers and potential provocateurs" were admitted to the dermatology clinic for 1-2 days on high GDR holidays. Theune died in February 2006 at the age of 86 in Dessau.
