(¤ 1864, † 1956) Dermatologist. Born in Brno and went to school there, he studied in Graz until 1891. The first dermatological teacher in Graz was Eduard Lipp. In 1893 after Lipp's death he moved to Isidor Neumann in Vienna. 1897 habilitation. 1898 in succession to Wlodimierz Lukasiewicz, appointment to the dermatological chair in Innsbruck. In 1902 he succeeded Gustav Riehl in the Leipzig chair, which he held until the end of the war in 1945. After the destruction of the Leipzig Dermatological Clinic, he fled to Innsbruck in 1945, where he served as interim head of the Dermatological Clinic. 1922 First description of ichthyosis linearis circumflexa, so named by the Italian dermatologist Marcello Comèl in 1949.
