Circumscripts or diffuse keratinization disorder of the epidermis with the appearance of nuclear residues in the stratum corneum. A parakeratosis results from an acceleration of epidermopoiesis (e.g. psoriasis vulgaris) or from an incorrect maturation of the keratinocytes (e.g. M. Bowen).
