(¤ 1878, † 1954) Dermatologist. Königstein was born in Vienna. There also school education and studies. 1903 doctorate. First dermatological training with Eduard Lang and later with Salomon Ehrmann at the Vienna General Hospital. He then found employment at the Rotschildspital in Vienna. There he was appointed head of a newly founded dermatological department. 1913 Venia legendi. 1927 Appointment as an extraordinary professor. In 1939, at the age of 61, Königstein emigrated to Israel in view of the prevailing national socialist terror, where he had to experience a new beginning in modest circumstances. Königstein received a guest professorship in Jerusalem. He died in Jerusalem. Main areas of research: pigment research, physiology of the skin, amyloidosis of the skin.
