General informationThis section has been translated automatically.

ISO is an international institution based in Geneva that coordinates standardization internationally to support the exchange of goods and services and to develop mutual cooperation in various technical fields. ISO develops ISO standards (ISO Standards), which are to be adopted unchanged by the member countries, e.g. in the Federal Republic of Germany as DIN ISO Standards. The standards EN ISO 9000:2000 ff. are basically process-oriented. ISO considers 8 principles of quality management:
  • Customer orientation
  • management accountability
  • Involvement of the persons involved
  • Process oriented approach
  • System-oriented management approach
  • Continuous improvement
  • Factual decision making approach
  • Supplier relations for mutual benefit.
The introduction of a quality management system is a strategic decision for an organization. The concrete implementation of EN ISO 9004 is the EFQM model. This is not a standard, but a comprehensive holistic quality management system ( TQM).
