Digital health application

Health care application in accordance with the Digital Health Care Act, registered and approved by the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices and prescribable at the expense of the statutory health insurance funds. The DiGAs are CE-certified medical devices class I or IIa. Physicians and psychotherapists can prescribe the applications for various diseases. Colloquially, the DiGAs are also called "app on prescription" - although they are clearly different from these. In addition to the software-based products and browser applications approved for various diagnoses, the hardware can also be prescribed to the patient. The medical benefit of the products must be proven. Indication and contraindication must be verified by the physician. The approved DiGAs are listed in the DiGA directory of the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices. DiGAs enable the patient to self-manage his usually chronic disease in cooperation with the treating therapist.
