Specific interleukin-4 receptor that mediates the action of interleukin-4. CD124 can be
detectedon the surface of B-lymphocytes,
T-lymphocytes, macrophages, mast cells and myeloid cell lines. The receptor density is 200-700/cell, on stimulated cells 1000-1500/cell. The interleukin-4 receptor has a subunit
which is identical to a subunit of the interleukin-2 receptor and plays a role in signal transduction.
