Andrews, george clinton

(Born November 26, 1891; Died December 9, 1978) Dermatologist. Received his medical training at Columbia University in New York. In 1925, he established his own dermatology department at the Vanderbilt Clinic of the Presbyterian Hospital. In 1930, he published the textbook *Diseases of the Skin*. He served as a clinical professor at Columbia University. In 1933, he first described the pustular bacterium named after Andrews. Other areas of research included X-ray therapy and radium applications.
