Pvp/va/vinyl propionate copolymer (inci)

"PVP" is the acronym for polyvinylpyrrolidone, a plastic produced from vinylpyrrolidone building blocks, "VA" is the acronym for vinyl acetate, "propionate" salts/esters of propionic acid, "copolymer" a polymer usually consisting of 2 monomers.

The PVP copolymer is used in cosmetic formulations. It acts as an antistatic agent (reduces static charges by neutralizing the electrical charge on the surface, for example of hair), hair conditioning agent (makes hair easy to comb, smooth, soft and shiny and gives it volume), binder (ensures the desired cohesion of powdery, powdery or creamy products, prevents solids and liquid components from separating).
