Punica granatum extract (inci)

Punica granatum extract is the extract from the bark and fruit of the pomegranate tree. The pomegranate tree is a 1.5 to 5m high shrub or tree from the myrtle family, which is native to the Orient and the Mediterranean. The Punica granatum extract is used in cosmetic formulations. It acts as an astringent and stimulating substance.

Punica granatum is the parent plant of Punicae granati fructus. Punicae granati fructus is used as liver protection, cardiovascular support and for the prophylaxis of arteriosclerosis.

Polyphenols, including dolphinidine, cyanidine, pelardonidine, crosmine. Other ingredients include tannin tanning agents, ellagic acid derivatives, organic acids such as citric acid, vitamin C, beta-carotene, selenium, zinc, copper and carbohydrates.
