Ppg-2 hydrogenated tallowamine (inci)

PPG is the acronym for "polypropylene glycol", the polymer of propylene glycol (1,2-propanediol), a dihydric alcohol. The number after "PPG" indicates the average number of propylene glycol molecular units, for "PPG-2" this is 2 propylene glycol molecular units. "hydrogenated tallowamine" refers to hydrogenated or also hardened tallow alkyl amines from beef tallow. PPG-2 hydrogenated tallowamine thus denotes a propoxylated compound based on fats from bovine tallow. The substance mixture is used in cosmetic formulations. It acts as emollient (makes the skin smooth and supple).
