Potassium cumenesulfonate (inci)

"Potassium" refers to the element potassium, "cumene" also refers to cumene or isopropylbenzene, is an aromatic hydrocarbon belonging to the group of C3-benzenes, "sulfonates" are salts/esters of sulfonic acid.

Potassium cumenesulfonate is used in cosmetic formulations. The substance acts as a solubilizer (is able to dissolve or dilute substances without causing chemical reactions between the dissolved substance and the dissolving substance) and as a surfactant (washing-active substance; improves the even distribution of the products during application).
