Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed silk (inci)

"Potassium' means the element potassium, 'cocoyl' the fatty acid component, fatty acids from coconut oil (Cocos Nucifera Oil), 'hydrolyzed rice bran', a hydrolysate obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis, acid hydrolysis or other hydrolysis processes from silkworm proteins.

Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed silk is used in cosmetic formulations. The substance acts as an antistatic agent (reduces static charges by neutralizing the electrical charge on the surface, for example of hair) and as a combability aid (reduces or prevents tangling of the hair due to changes or damage on the hair surface, thus improving combability).
