Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen (inci)

"Potassium" denotes the element potassium, "cocoyl" the fatty acid component, fatty acids from coconut oil (Cocos Nucifera Oil), "hydrolyzed collagen", hydrolyzed animal collagen.

Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen is used in cosmetic formulations. The substance acts as an antistatic agent (reduces static charges by neutralizing the electrical charge on the surface, for example of hair) and as a combability aid (reduces or prevents tangling of the hair due to changes or damage to the hair surface and thus improves combability) and as a surfactant (washing-active substance; improves the even distribution of products during application).
