Component of various essential oils, such as rose blossom oil, orange blossom oil, geranium oil, oil of cloves. Furthermore phenylethy alcohol has a bacteriostatic effect. It can also be used as a preservative, disinfectant and antiseptic. In dermatics the alcohol is used in a concentration of 0.5-1.0%.
