Pentytic acid is an organic aminopolycarboxylic acid which is used in cosmetic formulations just like the sodium salt of the acid (Pentasodium pentetae). In its pure state DTPA shows up as a white solid which is soluble in water up to 5g/l and which melts at 200 degrees Celsius.
