Oleamidopropyl dimethylamine hydrolyzed collagen (inci)

Oleamide is the carboxylic acid amide of oleic acid. "Dimethylamine" is a secondary amine with 2 methyl groups, "hydrolyzed collagen" is a collagen hydrolysate from animal connective tissue, especially from bovine collagen (in Asia, collagen hydrolysates are often obtained from Pacific fish species (cod) or from chicken collagen).

Oleamidopropyl dimethylamine hydrolyzed collagen is used in cosmetic formulations. The substance acts as an antistatic agent (reduces static charges by neutralizing the electrical charge on the surface, for example of hair) and hair conditioning agent (makes hair easy to comb, smooth, soft and shiny and gives it volume).
