Sh-decapeptide-9 refers to a synthetically produced peptide ("sh" stands for synthetic and human), which is composed of 10 peptides. The decapeptide contains the amino acids arginine, leucine, glycine, lysine, proline, tyrosine and phenylalanine.
Topically applied, the decapeptide is absorbed and acts neuropeptidically as an activator of collagen and elastin production.
