Magnesium salicylates (inci)

Magnesium salicylate the magnesium salt of salicylic acid, is a substance used in cosmetic formulations. It acts as a preservative (inhibits the development of microorganisms in cosmetic products and preserves them).

The framework conditions for preservatives that may be used in cosmetics are defined in the EC Cosmetics Regulation (1223/2009) Annex V.
