Lanolin oil is liquid wool wax. Lanolin oil consists of low-molecular components of wool wax. The part of the wool grease that is still solid at room temperature has been removed. Lanolin oil is soluble in acetone and mineral oils; it is partially soluble in absolute ethanol. Lanolin oil acts as an emollient in water-free skin lotions, cleansing oils, bath oils and hair oils. The oil is very well tolerated by the skin.

Preparation: Ethoxylated lanolin oil is a component of Lygal® head wash.
