Isodecyl isononanoates (inci)

The polyoxyethylene ethers of isodecyl alcohol are referred to as isodeceth(s). Polyalkylene glycol ethers are non-ionic surfactants whose lipophilic part consists of long-chain alcohols (here isodecyl alcohol). Isodecyl hydroxystearate acts as an emollient (makes the skin smooth and supple) and as a skin care product.

In cosmetic applications the esters of different carboxylic acids (here isononanoates as esters of isononanoic acid = 3,5,5-trimethylhexanoic acid) with the different PEG derivatives are used as emulsifiers, surfactants, emulsion stabilizers.
