Expiration date

Date printed on the packaging of cosmetics so that consumers know how long they can use their cosmetics. In general, a use-by date after opening is indicated by the symbol of an opened cream jar, followed by a number in months, and the letter M (example: if the product is labelled "10M", it will keep for 10 months after opening.

Exceptions - Best before date: Products which can be kept unopened for less than 30 months have a best before date.

Disposable products, spray cans or non-perishable products such as perfume, do not require an expiration date.

If a product changes colour or smells unpleasant, it should be disposed of immediately.
