Citronellol (inci)

Citronellol, a terpene derivative, is a natural component of rose and geranium oils (see geranium below). It is also extracted from citronella grass. Citronellol is used as a fragrance in deodorants and as a fragrance additive in detergents; it is also contained in repellents (mosquito sprays).

In a (generally) epicutaneously tested dermatological collective a sensitization rate of 0.5% was found.
