Methyl heptine carbonate

Synthetic fragrance that is found as a component of various fragrance components in perfumes and cosmetics. The sensitization potential is estimated to be low.

The DKG has tested methyl heptine carbonate 1% in vaseline so far. This application form is no longer available as a test substance in Germany. Therefore, a 0.2% concentration of methyl heptine carbonate in vaseline is now (as of 2016) recommended. The test substance is available under the INCI designation (Methyl 2-Octynoate) from Chemotechnique/Sweden.
