Ca 125

CA 125, also known as cancer antigen 125, is a protein that is mainly found in the ovaries, fallopian tubes and the lining of the uterus. CA 125 functions as a tumour marker, which is particularly effective in suspected tumours such as ovarian cancer. It also serves to monitor the success of a therapy.

Standard value: The standard value in serum is < 35 U/l

Pathologically elevated: pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer, other carcinomas of the female genitals, renal insufficiency, endometriosis, acute pancreatitis, liver diseases, cholelithiasis, cystitis, leiomyoma, pelvic inflammation, adnexitis, adnexal tumors.
