DefinitionThis section has been translated automatically.

Syphilitic recurrent exanthema with symmetrical, reddish to brownish-red, compact, dermal, dome-shaped papules. Seroreactions are always positive. Possible painfulness to button pressure. Development of condylomata lata in the intertriginous area. The symmetry of this non-pruritic, papular exanthema form is characteristic. Symmetry may be progressively lost in later recurrent exanthemas.

  1. Small pap ular or miliary or lichenoid syphilid: early symmetrical recurrent exanthema with 0.3-0.5 cm red-brown surface smooth or scaly (also psoriasiform scaling) papules.
  2. Papular or lenticular syphilid: most common syphilid. Truncal; palms and soles frequently affected. Serology always positive. Non-painful swelling of lymph nodes.
  3. Ulcerative sy philid: rather late secondary stage of syphilis. Foci arise from disintegration of syphilitic papules.
