(¤ 1882 - 1951) Dermatologist. Ruete was born on 28.1.1882 in Hamburg. He studied medicine in Strasbourg. Approbation in 1907. First dermatological training with Eduard Arning in Hamburg. Other training centres: 1908-1911 Strasbourg (further dermatological training with A. Wolff in Strasbourg and from 1911-1914 with Erich Hoffmann in Bonn. 1916 habilitation in Marburg. There, in succession to Hans Wilhelm Hübner, the dermatological clinic was established. In 1934 the subject dermatology and venereology was elevated to a regular full professorship and A. Ruete was appointed professor. Ruete was head of the clinic until 1950, with Martin Schubert, R. Bohnstedt, H. Schuermann and E. Ruete as students. Keining.
