Differently used and therefore misleading term for the large-nodular variant of a circumscriptum myxoedema or diffuse myxoedema, as well as for the myxoedema circumscriptum symmetricum praetibiale. Also incorrectly used for lichen myxoedematosus and scleromyxedema.

Tuberous or pad-like, coarse, circumscribed, brownish-yellow, reddish to blue-reddish, partly confluent knots of different sizes on the forehead, earlobes, elbows, back of the hands and neck.
