Since 1920 dermatological training in Cologne. 1925 habilitation. 1935, as successor of Rudolf Erhard Riecke, appointment to the dermatological chair at the University of Göttingen. Krantz was appointed by the Reich Ministry of Culture despite proposals to the contrary from Göttingen University. His scientific focus was syphilis and scabies. He left the clinic in 1945. Krantz died in Detmold in 1970.
