Tragacanth(Astragalus membranaceus) is one of the best-known plants in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). There it is considered a classic tonic. Tragacanth belongs to the butterfly family of legumes and originally comes from the Chinese border region to Mongolia.
The root of the plant is used phytotherapeutically, see Astragalus membranaceus . In Germany, there is an approved preparation for hay fever that is taken as a supplementary, balanced diet.
