Secondary, acyclic sesquiterpene (sesquiterpene alcohol) widely distributed in the plant world. Nerolidol is an isomer of farnesol. It is a component of many essential oils, such as niaouli oil (see Niauli aetheroleum below), it is also found in Cabreuva oil, orange blossom and orange, ginger, jasmine, lavender, tea tree and lemongrass. Its fragrance is aromatic, woody. Nerolidol is used as a flavouring and fragrance.
