The Mexican fever bark, also called Hintonia latiflora or Copalchi, is a plant within the family of the reddish plants (Rubiaceae). It is found in Central and South America, especially in Mexico and Guatemala.

Hintonia latiflora grows as a shrub or small tree and reaches growth heights of up to 5 metres. The opposite leaves are arranged on short stems. The leaf blade is oval to elliptical with a narrow base, 4 to 12 cm long and 2.5 to 5 cm wide.

The terminal inflorescence has numerous funnel-shaped, white, fragrant flowers, each relatively large. The ovary is bifold.
