Cymbopogons (lemongrasses) are a genus within the sweet grass family that originate from the tropical and subtropical regions of Asia, Africa and Australia.

The oils extracted from lemongrasses contain citronellol and geraniol in particular. They are also used as spices and medicinal plants, as well as repellents. Contact sensitization has been described but is extremely rare.
