A herbaceous climber belonging to the bindweed family with green leaves and funnel-shaped, white to pale pink flowers and capsule fruits with seeds, up to 500 seeds per plant. Flowering time: May to October. The long winding stems can grow up to 120 cm long, twining on the ground or climbing upwards. The branched roots can extend over 2 m.
Field bindweed is often controlled as a weed in fields and gardens as it prevents other plants from growing.

Experimental medicine: Internal: hypertension, cardiac insufficiency, liver and gallbladder problems, lung diseases, hypermenorrhea, bronchitis. External: snake bites, scorpion stings, burns, ulcers, wounds, bruises, arthritis, sciatica, ulcers, mycoses.
