(¤ 1826, † 1904) Dermatologist. Born on 23.6.1826 in Kaiser-Ebersdorf, he attended grammar school in Kremsmünster. 1851 doctorate. In 1859 habilitation for surgery and in 1860 for dermatology and syphilis. 1860 Lecturer for dermatopathology at the Hebrew clinic. 1863 Textbook on pathology and theory of venereal diseases, in which he, like Isidor Neumann, acknowledged the doctrine of duality (syphilis and gonorrhoea as different diseases), which was highly controversial at the time. 1864 Extraordinarius. On 5.4.1870 he became professor for syphilidology and dermatology at the Josefineum (at that time there were already 3 professorships for this subject in Vienna (Hebra, Neumann, Reder). In 1879 he became Knight of the Iron Crown IIIrd class combined with the title of nobility (v. Schellmann = birth name of the mother).
