He received his dermatological training under professors Friedrich Bering and Josef Vonkennel at the University Dermatology Clinic Cologne. There under Vonkennel Habilitaion with the topic: Metabolic studies on the =2-consumption of Mikrosporum gypseum using the Warburg apparatus.
