  • (¤ 1876, † 1959) Dermatologist, born on 2 August 1876 in Marseilles. There he began his medical studies, which he later continued in Paris. In Paris his interest in dermatology was awakened by Emile Leredde (1866-1926). Pautrier began his dermatological training at L'hôpital Saint-Louis under Louis Anne Jean Brocq. He was highly decorated as a soldier during the 1st World War. After World War I, he was first appointed to the chair of dermatology at the Strasbourg Clinic, and from 1942 to the chair of dermatology in Lausanne. In 1945 he returned to Strasbourg.
