Clinically characteristic phenomenon(pseudoleukoderm) that can occur in mycosis fungoides and pityriasis rubra pilaris. Nappes claires (or "taches claires") can be diagnostically groundbreaking even in the early stages of a disease.

They are characterized as sharply defined islands of unaffected light skin in the middle of lesioned, reddened skin.

Nappes claires are particularly conspicuous in erythrodermic skin of mycosis fungoides or pityriasis rubra pilaris.
