(¤ 10.8.1788, † 1851) French dermatologist. Lugol studied medicine in Paris. Doctorate in 1812. 1819 dermatological training at L'Hôpital Saint Louis/ Paris under Jean Louis Alibert. Lugol worked very successfully at this clinic until 1851. The name Lugol is associated in today's medicine with the introduction of the then very successful systemic therapy with iodine-potassium iodide solution ( Lugol's solution) for skin tuberculosis (later also for gonorroea and syphilis).
