(¤ 15.02.1870, † 02.09.1926) Pathologist, working in Budapest. Born in Poprád, Hungary. Studied medicine in Budapest. Subsequently assistant and later habilitation at the Pathological-Anatomical Institute of the Royal Hungarian University. 1900-1903 he published three extensive papers on skin carcinomas. Krompecher's work laid the foundation for the differentiation of basal cell car cinoma (Carcinoma basocelluare) from other epithelial tumours. In 1913 he became an associate professor and in 1914 a full professor at the University of Budapest. He died in 1926 at the age of 56.
