Conrad Heinrich Fuchs (1803-1855), was born in Bamberg. Fuchs was a pupil of Johann Lucas Schönlein. He was director of the university polyclinics in Würzburg (from 1833) and from 1838 in Göttingen. He became an internist at home and took a broad view of dermatology, as his 3-volume textbook of skin diseases showed.
