Histopathologically not exactly defined (clinical) term characterized by a vesicular detachment of the epidermis. In addition to drug-induced toxic epidermal necrolysis, there is a whole group of genetic diseases (see Epidermolysis bullosa hereditaria group below) which are characterized by a vesicular detachment of the epidermis in different layers.
